Food in Edae and Shinchon

Food in Edae and Sincheon
Some of the foods I had the first couple of days in Seoul. This area is called Edae which is the area surrounding Ewha Women's University. There are a lot of cute and cheep clothes and shoes shops, lots of makeup place and lots of unique restaurants and cafes. There is also the area known as Sincheon which is the area right next to Edae. It is one stop away on the subway but still within walking distance of Edae.

This First dish is Jjangmyun(blackbean sauce noodles) with seafood, a few clams and cabbage. This was at "Maindish" a food court style restaurant on campus at Ewha women's university in the ECC or Ewha Campus Complex. This was around 5,500 won.

This Restaurant I am not too sure of the name it was one that we stumbled upon as we were walking in Sincheon. It was a chicken restaurant. For two people about 14,000 for a pretty big plate of chicken and rice.

As not the use of engrish here .."People..usually have a short lunch break or they just do not want to waste their time eating" this was on the walls of the restaurant.

A chain here in Korea Paris Baguette has a lot of different kind of pastries and cakes. There are tons of them all through out Seoul. My pastry that I has was a pizza roll type and had typical pizza toppings like cheese , olives, pepperoni and also pineapple. It was about 9,000 won for those two pastries and two drinks.

This coffee place is right across of the main entrance gate of Ewha and is on the second floor. It really can't be missed. It is just one of area coffee shops in the area. It was some what expensive for a coffee place but the atmosphere was really relaxed. It was about 4,000 won for a small size. I had a vanilla Latte, like what I've noticed in Korea coffee here is sweet as in everything and anything coffee where bought in from a can or at a shop is pretty sweet but I enjoy it.

Another side note about Korea a lot of place even coffee shops give you a buzzer to pick up you food and even coffee rather then just calling out numbers or order. I thought that was pretty smart and efficient idea here.

Noodle kimbap was a restaurant maybe less then five minute walk outside of the main Ewha gate. They pretty much serve exactly what is says soup/ noodles and kimbap. We got a rolled egg kimbap to go and it was less then 3,000 won. Pretty cheep for a small snack or even light dinner.

This coffee place was right behind the Noodle Kimbap restaurant and though I did not go in I just took notice of the unique name.

Big Coffee?..
Here is just one of many street food place in Edae. Here is a chicken kabob with pieces of chicken and wonbok grilled with salt and usually a spicy paste sauce brushed on. Though I opted out of the spicy sauce it was still really delicious snack and only 2,000 won.

One of many Lotteria's this one in Sincheon. Lotteria is like a Korean chain of fast food restaurants in comparison to a Mcdonald's. Though Mcdonald's don't have Song Joonki on their cups. For about 5,000 won got a small drink, bulgogi burger (same a hamburger but better) and fries.

Lastly some more engrish on a bread a bought at the convenience store "The Elegant, delicious cake should bring you happy and delightful time".
